The first Financial Literacy Bootcamp organised by PSF in Luxembourg
20 young people learn to manage a portfolio with the support of Luxembourgish companies
Luxembourg, 13 July 2026 – After several weeks of intensive learning and two months of personalised mentoring by professionals from the financial centre, the 2026 Financial Literacy Bootcamp officially closed with an awards ceremony held at Deloitte Luxembourg's offices.
The Grand Duchy of Luxembourg is the leading investment fund centre in Europe and the second largest in the world by assets managed. Yet there is a real gap between Luxembourg's top position and the level of financial literacy among its younger generations. To close this gap, the NGO Professeurs Sans Frontières (PSF) / Professors Without Borders (Prowibo) a.s.b.l. organised a new 2026 edition of its Financial Literacy Bootcamp, for the first time in Luxembourg, from 17 April to 13 July, with financial support from the Œuvre Nationale de Secours Grande-Duchesse Charlotte.
Financial excellence within reach
As the world capital of fund management, Luxembourg is home to more than €5 trillion in assets under management. Yet according to the OECD (2023), its 18 to 29-year-olds lack training in investing. For now, the Grand Duchy's financial excellence remains out of reach for its own young people.
This needed urgent action. Prowibo decided to take on the challenge, and the first Financial Literacy Bootcamp was born.
Step one: training by investment professionals
Between 17 April and 2 May 2026, 20 participants aged 16 to 22, who had expressed their interest to Prowibo, were hosted by professionals from the law firm White & Case, CaixaBank Asset Management and Nordic Capital, whom Prowibo had convinced of the value of such a bootcamp. These professionals gave their valuable time to teach the young people the fundamentals of personal finance and investing. It gave participants the chance to learn directly from people who work in finance, who shared not only their professional expertise but also their own experiences and career paths.
From theory to practice: managing €100,000
What makes Prowibo's Bootcamp different is that it goes beyond theory and beyond the walls of a classroom. After the Bootcamp lessons, each participant continued the experience with a mentor. For two months, financial sector professionals from the partner institutions guided, encouraged and advised them on their choices in managing a fictitious portfolio of €100,000.
At the end of this period, an independent jury, meeting at Deloitte Luxembourg, selected the most rigorous and complete investment strategy. Each participant received a certificate of participation and an in-depth evaluation of their work, based on their mentor's analysis.
Education as a lever for social equity
By opening the doors of finance to the Grand Duchy's young people, Prowibo aims to demystify a sector often seen as inaccessible and, as surveys and testimonies show, particularly intimidating for women. With a group of students made up of more than 50% women, the NGO is tackling gender stereotypes around money and investing head on.
One of the Bootcamp participants, Eléonore Pereira, 17, a student at the École de Commerce et de Gestion, reflects this ambition:
“My goal is to become independent and have my own business as my main source of income, but also to be an investor and earn extra income that way.”

A two-way exchange
For Professeurs Sans Frontières, this Bootcamp is much more than an educational programme. It is a space for networking and intergenerational exchange. The mentors take the opportunity to volunteer and get involved in Luxembourg society in a concrete way, while training the talent that will make up the next generation of professionals and entrepreneurs. Through them, participants discover how finance works and become familiar with its principles and concepts.
