26th February 2024, London, United Kingdom – A strategic partnership has been formed between the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) and Professors Without Borders (Prowibo), signifying a major step forward in global higher education and research. This strategic alliance is poised to combine the expertise and resources of both organizations, with a focus on enhancing academic opportunities and research capabilities in higher education. The partnership represents a commitment to shared values of quality education, innovation, and impactful research, aiming to make a significant contribution to the global academic community.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed by Mr. Evariste Karambizi. Director, Division for Peace, at UNITAR, and Dr. Caroline Varin, CEO and Co-founder of Prowibo. Key to this partnership are collaborative efforts in research, shared educational resources, and mutual engagement initiatives. The partnership will see both organizations engage in collaboration to further our joint mission of improving access to quality education, which will include access to online teaching programmes and the dissemination of research outputs via Professors Without Border’s academic journal: Higher Education Compass. The partnership will focus the collaboration on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals), underscoring the aligned missions of UNITAR and Prowibo.
